Muslim American Women’s Dialogue Circle at UH-Clear Lake

University of Houston-Clear Lake – April, 17th 2014

 The University of Houston-Clear Lake hosted the 20th Annual Student Conference for Research and the Creative Arts and presented a Muslim American Women’s Dialogue Circle with PhD. Maria F. Curtis.

PhD. Maria F. Curtis is a professor of Anthropology and Cross-Cultural Studies at UHCL.

UHCL students and Houston community members participated in an interfaith dialogue and learned about the diversity of the Houston-area community.

American Muslim Women Dialogue Circle at University of Houston Clear Lake

The round table discussions focused on diversity within the greater American Muslim community, and the ways that they create multi faith spaces of public dialogue.

The evening was very interesting and inspired participants to shape their reflection about Muslim American women.

Irada Akhoundova, along with several professors from various educational institutions, participated as a moderator during round table discussions.
