Once again, the Houston International Festival celebrates, in 2014, music, dance and cultures from around the world. This year, iFest honors Australia.iFest
In Downtown, the International Children’s parade opening ceremony started at the City Hall on April 25th and 17 Sister Cities were presented by Houston students.
Houston-Baku Sister Citiy Association was represented by The Post Oak School’s 4th grade students, along with other independent schools and the help of the Art Director of HBSCA, Ms. Saida Fagala.

The students were wearing t-shirts with symbols and greeted guests in Azerbaijani language. One of the students then handled the boat and placed it the basin as a symbolic representation of the friendship between Houston and overseas Sister Cities. Baku’s boat was decorated with beautiful Azerbaijani ornaments.

The Houston International Festival is a great way for us to represent the Azerbaijani community and promote our culture in Houston.
